New Water Treatment Program Raises Recreational Water Park Standards
Barefoot Surf Resort (BSR) Waco, Texas launched its comprehensive water treatment program prior to opening in March, 2019. This program has set a new standard for water quality in water parks and man-made lagoons in the United States.
BSR is a sprawling 450-acre spread outside of Waco, Texas and has become one of the nation’s leading providers of surf park and recreational water attractions. It features water slides, a lazy river, and a surf lake which attracts amateur and professional wakeboard and surfers from all over the world. The newly launched water treatment program will provide superior water quality in the Surf, Lazy River and Royal Flush features, exceed- ing the current regulations for recreational water parks and artificial recirculating lagoons.

Our water treatment plan has two distinct parts,” says Gregg Sanders, CEO of Water Tech Solutions, Inc. “The first aspect is to incorporate the best filtration, sanitation, and disinfection equipment available into our design. U.S National Whitewater Center
The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is home to the world’s largest man-made whitewater river, offering premier outdoor activities including whitewater rafting and kayaking and flatwater kayaking. The USNWC was required by the State of North Carolina to reduce the turbidity of their 12 million gallon man-made whitewater river. In the fall of 2016, Water Tech Solutions provided advanced filtration, filtration media, ozone disinfection and monitoring equipment to maintain near drinking water quality.
